About Linda Tuff

Linda Tuff is a Sapphire Life Master and the American Bridge Teachers’ Association’s Teacher of the Year for 2022.

She has been playing Bridge since her first year studying education at Acadia University.

Linda is a member of the ACBL Goodwill Committee, and is a Certified ACBL Club and Cruise Director.

She is the manager of Halifax Bridge World in Nova Scotia, Canada. Running since the early 1980s, it’s the largest Bridge club in Eastern Canada.

Linda has sat on the board of the ACBL Unit 194 (Nova Scotia & Newfoundland) and served as its president.

She co-chaired the Can-At Regional Tournament in 2022.

She loves travelling, spending time with her family, and inspiring new players to fall in love with Bridge.

Nova Scotia is now home to Contract Bridge royalty.

A Lower Sackville instructor of the classic card game was recently awarded the honour of Bridge Teacher of the Year by the American Bridge Teachers’ Association (ABTA).

After 40 years in the game, Linda Tuff returned home from the United States last month with an accolade of a lifetime many bridge teachers across North America dream of adding to their credit.

If you speak to some of the people who know the game of bridge best, they’ll tell you the complex card game has ties to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

“We understand the benefits of playing bridge — socialization, reducing isolation for seniors by offering them an opportunity for them to participate in bridge,” explained Halifax Bridge World manager Linda Tuff.

In 2017, the Mark Molson Cup was honoured by the attendance of Mark’s widow, Janice Seamon-Molson.

The 2018 winners were Linda Tuff and Jane Filbee.
